History
Our founding fathers were Buddy Cotton and Ken Russell. They approached the late John Pritchard who was the owner of Heritage Cycles H-D about this brilliant idea of joining a lot of other Harley only clubs across America known as HOG. Luckily he had the good sense to sponsor these independent bikers and Emerald Coast HOG Chapter was born 10 Sept 1990 with about 80 charter members. The club’s first director was Buddy Cotton.
The club’s first year was a busy one, not only did they author a charter for the new chapter, they also took the reins of an annual Toy Run even that was previously sponsored by independent bikers. Back in those days along with proceeds going to some Okaloosa County Schools, an Orphanage in Milton sold the T-Shirts collecting money to help their cause.
Still today the annual Toy Run is the highlight of the year for our chapter. The proceeds and all the toys collected go to the Emerald Coast Child Advocacy Center and Children In Crisis.
If you were a member of our club and have some memories you’d like to share please email me with any inputs on our history.
